HeatIndex Monitor Privacy Policy

HeatIndex Monitor (“the app”) is provided by Wayne Keith. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using HeatIndex Monitor, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
HeatIndex Monitor collects only the information needed to provide its heat-safety features:
- Account information. When you sign in, the app uses Sign in with Apple to create your account. Depending on your choices on Apple’s sign-in screen, this may include your name and an email address (which may be an Apple private-relay address that hides your real email). We use this only to identify your account.
- Organization and role information. To show the right information for your worksite, the app stores which organization you belong to, your role (such as administrator or crew member), and your approval status within that organization.
- Environmental sensor readings. The app displays temperature and humidity readings, along with the times they were recorded, collected from a sensor device at your worksite. These readings describe conditions at a location and device, not an individual person.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to sign you in, connect you to your organization and its sensor devices, display current and recent heat-index readings, and determine whether conditions meet the threshold for a heat break. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
Where Your Information Is Stored
HeatIndex Monitor uses Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Firebase Realtime Database) to sign you in and to store account, organization, and sensor data. This information is stored on Google’s cloud infrastructure and is subject to Google’s security and privacy practices.
Information Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Information is visible within your own organization as needed to operate the app (for example, an administrator can see members and approval requests for their organization). We share information with service providers such as Google Firebase only to the extent required to run the app, and when required by law.
Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your account and organization information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time, either through the in-app account deletion option or by contacting us at the email below. Environmental sensor readings may be retained to provide history and daily summaries.
Children’s Privacy
HeatIndex Monitor is a workplace tool intended for use by adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page and the effective date above will be updated. You are encouraged to review this page periodically.
